admin – Compare Cellphone Contracts South Africa http://www.comparecellphonecontracts.co.za Sat, 14 Sep 2013 10:16:40 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=5.6.17 Cell C CasualChat Packages http://www.comparecellphonecontracts.co.za/networks/cell-c/cell-c-casualchat-packages/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=cell-c-casualchat-packages Thu, 26 Sep 2013 10:15:51 +0000 http://www.comparecellphonecontracts.co.za/?p=355 The largest networks are usually the best networks, they have become the largest because they know their competition and they’ve beaten it. In South Africa the largest networks are Vodacom, MTN, Telkom Mobile and Cell C. Cell C have proven themselves as not just innovative, but reliable and trustworthy. Their wide range of packages and extensive coverage as well as their high speed internet make them an ideal choice!
Cell C has a range of packages called CasualChat. These deals are aimed at giving you inclusive minutes to use off-peak. It’s perfect for anyone who makes most of their calls in the evening or weekend and is great if this is your first cell phone contract, because it’s not too highly priced. On CasualChat, you get two kinds of packages, CasualChat 100 and Anytime – we’ve outlined them below to give you a better idea of what they include and how they compare.
On CasualChat 100, for R115 per month you get 100 minutes / 6000 seconds of off peak calls. Domestic calls during peak hours to Telkom are charged at R2.30 per minute (3.8c per second), domestic calls during peak hours to other cellular networks are charged at R2.70 per minute (4.4c per second) and domestic calls during peak hours to Cell C numbers are charged at R1.80 per minute (3c per second). Off peak calls are charged at 95c per minute to Telkom numbers, R1 per minute to other cellular networks and 90c per minute to Cell C numbers. International calls during peak hours are charged at R1.85 per minute plus the Telkom rate and off peak are 95c per minute plus the Telkom rate. Peak sms’s are 80c each and off peak sms’s are 36c each. International sms’s are R1.50 each.
The CasualChat 100 deal is perfect for most users, it offers a good amount of airtime at a reasonable rate. The charges are comparable to other networks and if you can handle making calls off peak, then this package will suit you perfectly.
CasualChat Anytime is a less expensive option with less inclusions that caters to those of us who don’t only use our phones in the evenings or weekends – we use them anytime!
Priced at R130 per month, you get 50 minutes / 3000 seconds of anytime airtime.
The downside of CasualChat with Cell C is if you call during peak hours you’ll be billed more than usual, so if you’re actually using your phone all the time, don’t be lured in by the cheaper off peak call rates because you won’t be benefited by them!
Considering each of these packages can be confusing, especially if you’re not sure of what your usage is. For some advice on what package would suit you best is available from the customer care centres of most networks. Speak to someone or even visit them in store so they can properly assess what packages would be best. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and get straight answers. Cell phone contracts are usually 24 months long, so it’s a big commitment and if you’re on the wrong contract those months can drag on endlessly!

Vodacom Smart tariff plans http://www.comparecellphonecontracts.co.za/networks/vodacom/vodacom-smart-tariff-plans/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=vodacom-smart-tariff-plans Tue, 24 Sep 2013 10:12:52 +0000 http://www.comparecellphonecontracts.co.za/?p=349 With Vodacom being one of the largest networks in South Africa, you are assured of a few things; namely, good coverage, a wide range of hi-tech products and top speed internet. However, the one thing we can’t always expect from a large corporation are reasonable tariffs. In order to give you an idea of what Vodacom’s pricing is like, we’ve listed the details of each of their tariff plans below for your consideration.

Vodacom’s tariff plans are divided into 9 plans or packages, which include Everyday Offpeak 120 (Weekender), BlackBerry tariff plans, Talk tariff plans, Business tariff plans, TopUp tariff plans, Smart tariff plans, Vodacom Red packages and Vodacom data tariff plans. We’ve also included the information regarding Vodacom’s SMS and MMS tariffs for you.

The Smart range of tariff plans are plans with sms and data bundles included in the package. This type of package is ideal for you if you send lots of sms’s or use data and don’t want the inconvenience of topping up all the time. These plans are available in Smart Light, Smart S, Smart M, Smart L and Smart XL. As the Smart range is one of Vodacom’s more popular contracts, we’ve listed below the breakdown of each of these price plans to give you an idea of how they’re structured.

With the Smart Light tariff plan, you pay R135 per month which gets you 100MB of data, 100 bundled sms’s, 75 minutes of bundled talk time with per second billing billed for the first minute and then for each 30 second interval. Domestic calls are charged at R2.70 (Vodacom to Vodacom at R1.75) during peak hours and off peak domestic calls are charged at 95c (Vodacom to Vodacom at 90c), sms are 80c during peak hours and 35c off peak. This is the entry level plan, ideal for students, or those with a tighter budget!

With the Smart S tariff plan, you pay R199 per month which gets you 200MB of data, 150 bundled sms’s, 75 minutes of bundled talk time. Out of bundle call rates are Vodacom to Telkom / Vodacom / other networks is charged at R1.75, out of bundle sms’s are 35c each and out of bundle data is charged at R1/MB.

On the Smart M tariff plan, you pay R299 per month which gets you 300MB of data, 240 bundled sms’s, 120 minutes of bundled talk time. Out of bundle rates are the same as the Smart S tariff plan. If you’re not comfortable with the limits of a Smart Light or S plans, you’ll be happier with the extra data, air time and sms’s.

On the Smart L tariff plan, you pay R499 per month which gets you 500MB of data, 500 bundled sms’s, 250 minutes of bundled talk time. Out of bundle rates are the same as the Smart S and Smart M tariff plans.

On the Smart XL tariff plan, you pay R699 per month which gets you 800MB of data, 800 bundled sms’s, 400 minutes of bundled talk time. Out of bundle call rates are Vodacom to Telkom / Vodacom / other networks is charged at R1.50, out of bundle sms’s are 35c each and out of bundle data is charged at R1/MB.

The primary disadvantage of Vodacom’s Smart range of contracts is that although you don’t have to keep adding data or sms bundles to your package, you’re tied into paying for them for the full 24 month term of the contract – whether you need them or not. If you’re sure you won’t be using them, you should seriously consider another contract because you’ll be paying too much with this. On the other hand, if you are using the bundles each month, Smart plans are aimed at offering you convenience and service that fits your lifestyle.

What is Cell C SupaCharge and how does it work http://www.comparecellphonecontracts.co.za/networks/cell-c/what-is-cell-c-supacharge-and-how-does-it-work/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=what-is-cell-c-supacharge-and-how-does-it-work Sat, 21 Sep 2013 10:08:47 +0000 http://www.comparecellphonecontracts.co.za/?p=342 You may have heard of the new Cell C SupaCharge service which claims to put the power back in your hands. How exactly does it do that? Well, basically you can recharge whenever you want to and get the full Rand value in airtime as well as free Cell C to Cell C calls, free Cell C to Cell C sms’s and free data! As you can see below, the details of this service is sure to provide valuable savings for those of us who recharge regularly!
The SupaCharge is based on the recharge amount; the higher the recharge, the higher the benefits! For example, if you recharge with R100, you get R100 airtime, 150 free Cell C to Cell C minutes, and 150 free Cell C to Cell C sms’s and 150MB free data. If you recharge with R500 or more, you can even get unlimited free calling to Cell C numbers. As you can see, that’s a pretty good return on investment!
Aside from the rewards you get from recharging, on SupaCharge with Cell C, you get to call anyone in SA any time of the day for 99c per minute. The per second billing is charged every 5 seconds that you use, as opposed to per minute billing where you end up paying for minutes you haven’t used up. You can also call over 50 international countries at 99c per minute – which is currently one of the cheapest deals available in South Africa. You can also get data at an unbelievable rate of 15c per MB – crazy right?!

The great thing about SupaCharge is that everyone that has a prepaid Cell C deal or Top Up package automatically gets SupaCharge – no need to opt in! Unfortunately it is only for personal customers and not commercial use.
For the unlimited bonus, all you need to do is recharge with R500 or more and you will get unlimited Cell C to Cell C anytime voice calls, valid for 30 days from date of recharge.
All recharge bonuses are added together, so whenever you add airtime, the bonuses you already have will accumulate together with the new ones you gain. It is important to remember however, that these bonuses expire after 30 days, so make sure you use them while you have them!
To check your SuperCharge balance, all you need to do is dial *101# for free minutes, sms and data. For a detailed balance enquiry and to view your unlimited bonus Cell C to Cell C minutes, dial *147#.
That’s it. True to their reputation for simple, straight forward packages that come with great value, Cell C have come up with this great price plan that gets consumers exactly what they’re looking for without too much fuss.
If, however, you are having trouble understanding any of the details of this price plan, you can contact Cell C directly – either in store or via their website or call centre – and they will be sure to help you any way they can. Their dedicated staff are ready and willing to give you all the advice and help you may need to assure you are aware of everything involved in this plan.
The prepaid Cell C deals really offer value for money and offer reliability and fast connectivity, however, if you are considering other networks and would like to compare them you will most likely benefit from shopping around to get the right deal for you. Similar networks which offer good deals are MTN and Vodacom. You can look online to see what they have available in order to compare and weigh up the pros and cons of each to make your final decision. Something important to keep in mind is the coverage of the network. If your network doesn’t offer coverage in your area, you will be stuck with a useless phone, so make sure you ask!

Lg optimus g pro cellc contract deals http://www.comparecellphonecontracts.co.za/phone-contract-deals/lg-optimus-g-pro-cellc-contract-deals/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=lg-optimus-g-pro-cellc-contract-deals Fri, 20 Sep 2013 10:06:58 +0000 http://www.comparecellphonecontracts.co.za/?p=340 Smart and snazzy, the LG Optimus G Pro, is one of the latest phones on the market and already has consumers chomping at the bit to get one! With similar styling to most smart phones, this compact, sleek gadget is a sharing machine- giving you an immersive and expansive display, state of the art camera, powerful processing and user friendly interface. Key features included in the phone are the popular Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system, 4Lite internet capability, 3,140 maH battery power, 13MP full HD camera with dual recording and dual camera, Quick Memo, dual screen dual play and Android Beam. This exceptional phone will have you hooked from the start and should be taken seriously as a top competitor in the current cell phone market.

Cell C is currently offering packages on the LG Optimus G Pro smart phone. This network is a reliable and trustworthy company which has won over a major section of the South African market through providing exceptional customer service and a variety of value packed deals. With one of the fastest internet connections in the country, you are sure of getting the most out of the great little gadget.

To get this great little phone with Cell C, you can get the Straight Up 100 for R369 per month which includes 100 airtime minutes, 100 sms’s/mms’s and 400MB of data. By upgrading or signing up for this deal you could win 1 of 100 LG docking stations. Listed below are a few of the deals Cell C is offering on different phones to give you an idea of how the deal compares to others.

A comparable deal would be the Samsung Galaxy SIII on Straight Up 100 for R329 per month which includes the same airtime and sms’s/mms’s as the LG deal, but just 100MB of data.

Another comparable deal from Cell C would be the Apple iPhone 6 16GB on Straight Up 100 for R399 per month which includes the same minutes, sms’s/mms’s and data as the LG deal.

As you can see, the extra data included in the LG deal really adds value, as this is a smart phone, you will more than likely be using it extensively for internet browsing, downloads and applications, so getting the data at a discount is really worth it! Granted, the phone isn’t as sought after as the iPhone or the Galaxy SIII, but for no reason other than their brand names. So if you’re not tied down by labels, you can save yourself a little extra cash here. On the other hand, LG is still a great brand name, so even if you are concerned with brand names, be original and get something that’s a little different than what your friends have – without compromising on performance. The Android operating system is also offered on the Galaxy SIII, so you’re basically getting the same phone. The iPhone operating system is a little limiting if you don’t have any other Apple products, because you can’t sync it as easily with other devices as you’d like – so you’ll need to take that into consideration.

Before signing up for any cell phone contract, you should be careful to ensure you consider all of the options and choose the right deal for your requirements. If you’re making more calls than sms’s, you need to factor that in – your usage will affect the type of contract that suits you best. If you have questions or would like some advice, contact your closest Cell C dealer to see what they would advise. They have very helpful staff who are fully trained to help with your queries and can assist you with your decision. Don’t feel rushed into making a decision, 24 months is a long time and it’s a big commitment, especially if you’re paying too much or getting too little out of the deal!

Telkom Mobile Sim Sonke http://www.comparecellphonecontracts.co.za/networks/telkom-mobile/telkom-mobile-sim-sonke/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=telkom-mobile-sim-sonke Wed, 18 Sep 2013 10:04:48 +0000 http://www.comparecellphonecontracts.co.za/?p=338 Telkom mobile, one of the new kids on the block, has taken South African consumers by storm and has continued to offer reliable service at affordable rates. The latest offering from this newbie is the Sim-Sonke pre-paid tariff plan that offers pre-paid billing, which ensures lower charges than contracts which charge per minute.
On the Sim-Sonke package, you pay 29c per minute for calls to any Telkom Mobile number (per second billing), and you pay 75c per minute to any SA and national landline numbers (Telkom and Neotel) billed per second.
For just 99c, you can get a Sim-Sonke starter pack, which contains two SIM cards that you will need to RICA. In order to RICA your SIM cards, you need your ID and proof of residence, you can usually RICA in the store where you buy the starter pack. You can purchase a starter pack at Telkom Mobile stores, 8ta stores, Shoprite and Checkers stores.
For airtime, you can visit Telkom and 8th stores, participating dealers, participating banks (FNB, Nedbank, ABSA and Standard Bank) and online. Recharging comes with the following benefits: between R5-19, you get 5 free sms’s; R20 or more gets you 20 free sms’s valid for 7 days. In addition you qualify for free night calls from your Telkom mobile Sim-Sonke number. These free calls are valid for 7 days. The free evening calls promotion works in the following ways; if you recharge before 9pm, the benefit starts the same day at 9pm, if you recharge after 9pm and before midnight, you get the benefit immediately, if you recharge after midnight, you get the benefit from 9pm that evening. To check your airtime balance, dial *188#.

Prior to signing up with any network, you should check the coverage to see if they offer good service in your area. To check the Telkom Mobile coverage, you can visit www.telkommobile.co.za/coverage. You can also send your street address and suburb or GPS coordinates to 43482 and they will reply with an sms confirming the coverage in that area.
To purchase internet bundles on Sim-Sonke, you can choose from any one of the following bundles:
250MB at R30; 500MB at R69; 1GB at R119; 5GB at R349; 10GB at R999; 60GB + 60GB at R1800; or 2GB + 1GB at R149.
To purchase sms’s/mms’s on Sim-Sonke, you can choose from any one of the following bundles:
50 sms’s at R22.50; 100 sms’s at R35; 200 sms’s at R50; 500 sms’s at R112; 1000 sms’s at R210; 1500 sms’s at R315; or 2000 sms’s at R420.
To purchase wi-fi bundles on Sim-Sonke, you can choose from either of the bundles below:
30 minutes for R25 or 60 minutes for R40.

You can also purchase the BlackBerry internet services (BIS), BlackBerry Social and Email Plan on Sim-Sonke.
International calls are available (without activating the roaming), but be careful! The charges for international calls on any package are hefty and easily max out your cell phone budget!
As I’m sure you can see, the deal includes very reasonable prices and can really save you quite a lot when it all adds up. If you are in an area that gets good coverage, it’s well worth switching over. However, this is imperative, so if you don’t get great coverage, don’t put yourself in that position!
Give Telkom Mobile a call to talk through any queries you may have regarding Sim-Sonke and their helpful staff are sure to be more than happy to supply you with the relevant information to answer your questions. You can also visit them in store and speak to one of their representatives who is sure to be more than helpful! Consider carefully whether the deal suits your requirements and if it caters to your needs. You don’t want to be stuck with a SIM-card that you don’t use.
On the other hand, the great thing about pre-paid packages is that there is no long term commitment, so if you’re just visiting the country or aren’t sure about which package you want, it’s a great alternative!
